“I Want You To Want Me” is an interactive installation from Jonathan Harris & Sep Kamvar which chronicles the on line profiles of people from a variety of on line dating sites every few hours.

I want you to want me

Data is collected and filtered focusing to sentences “I am” or “I am looking for”. The piece has five formal movements the user can perform: Who I Am, What I Want, Snippets, Matchmaker, and Breakdowns, each one of which visualizes a different aspect of dating profiles. This mosaic of profiles is displayed in an interactive sky of a 56-inches touch screen in which 100 balloons float. Blue balloons for men, pink for women and the lighter the younger the person. The “I want you to want me” is on display in the Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition MoMA (Museum of Modern Art, New York).
